About Dr. Maureen Condon, Ph.D.,LCSW,LLC

I have had the fortunate experience to work with people in my private practice both here in Florida and for over a decade in New York, dealing with stress, trauma, addiction and recovery in their lives.  Their strength, courage and ability to thrive and grow make me feel privileged to work with them and see how unbelievably powerful the human spirit is!  I know there is power in our troubles, difficulties, stressors, traumas, and addictions that can be found with working on healing the whole person, concentrating on all parts of us; mind, body, and spirit.

My career in Social Work began in 1989 at a Youth and Family Services agency in NY where I started as the Client Advocate, then became a Case Manager, then Director of Adolescent Services, where I supervised the development and implementation of a program for pregnant and parenting teens.  My work there clearly taught me that I had found my passion and I enrolled in SUNY Stony Brook's MSW program.  I completed my thesis on Alcoholism in the Family and obtained my licensure in 1992. Since that time I have had the privilege of working with people dealing with stress, trauma, addiction and recovery!

My experience has allowed me to work in the treatment field as a Primary Therapist, Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, Director of Admissions, and Director of Marketing, as well as have my private practice both in New York and now in Florida.  I also had the pleasure of being part of the adjunct faculty at Suffolk Community College in their Chemical Dependency track and I was a SIFI supervisor for Masters level interns in the MSW program at SUNY Stony Brook. I completed my Ph.D. in Human Services and my dissertation topic was: The Impact of Trauma and Addiction on Relapse and Recovery.

My office is located in Juno Beach, Florida.

ABOUT KATIE LEMIEUX, LMFT

My name is Katie Lemieux and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I seek to understand people and empower them to make decisions and choices in overcoming their problems and achieving their own personal goals, successes and victories.  I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and am the current Vice President for the Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  I am a Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida and supervise Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Interns.  I am a member of Premier Network Alliance and the National Association of Professional Woman.

As a therapist delivering quality services for individuals counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling in the Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs and tri-county areas, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve present challenges creating a new future.  Counseling with a qualified therapist, one you trust and feel comfortable with, can help you get there.

My approach is open and inviting, inventive and collaborative, focused and direct, dished up with a serving of humor.  Much of my work focuses on empowering people by utilizing past and present solutions and applying them to their current goals.  I am genuinely curious about my clients’ lives.  I invite conversation and begin to understand each client through the context of their beliefs, experiences, cultural and religious/spiritual influences, and the perceptions and meanings they place on their lives.  My clients report feeling relaxed, at ease, accepted and most importantly respected.

My therapeutic interventions are creative, innovative, and unique. I am consistently sought out by clients and colleagues who have tried "everything" with little or less than expected results.  I have also been requested on numerous occasions to work with clients as a means of last resort.

My other passions are training, presenting, and motivational speaking. To find out more on how to bring one of these to you, your business and/or organization visit our pages on our website Personal Development and Professional Development.

Arlene Englander, LCSW, MBA, PA

Arlene B. Englander, LCSW, MBA, has been a licensed psychotherapist for over twenty five years. She trained at Columbia University and is currently in private practice in North Palm Beach, Florida where she specializes in treating persons coping with eating disorders, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief and stress (personal and work-related). Love Your Food® is her non–dieting, psychologically-oriented program for compulsive overeaters in which clients learn to eat whatever they like, but stop just at the point of satisfaction without overeating.

Ms. Englander developed many of her theories about stress management while working at Cancer Care, Inc. where she counseled thousands of patients and families dealing with advanced cancer. She subsequently developed stress management programs for use in hospitals, law firms, and other settings. As Director of Community Education at the Holliswood Hospital, a private psychiatric hospital in New York City, which was renowned for its eating disorders program, her responsibilities included the production of educational seminars, often attended by audiences of as many as 500 professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses and guidance counselors.

Aside from her professional training and experience, Ms. Englander is also personally familiar with the issue of eating disorders, as she is a former compulsive overeater.

ABOUT TINA MONTALVO, LMFT

People seek therapy for many different reasons. Maybe you:

  • are having difficulty with your partner. You have the same arguments, and they go nowhere; or a distance has grown and you don’t know how to bridge it;

  • are remarried; maybe you have children from a previous marriage, or maybe your new spouse does, or maybe you both do, and you are finding life as a stepfamily unexpectedly difficult, despite your best intentions;

  • are tired of feeling not good enough, no matter how hard you try;

  • are just not yourself these days, and feel very blue, rundown, and irritable, or anxious and jumpy;

  • have had a crisis in your life or relationship, and need to find ways to manage it;

  • have experienced a loss—through death, a break-up, or even the end of a dream or an important idea. Many times we experience loss but don’t think of it as such, and cannot understand the strange and strong feelings we’re having;

  • are having a tough time with your kids;

  • just need to talk, and know that you will be listened to in an understanding, non-judgmental way.

Because each person is unique, it’s important to me to listen carefully, to understand what you are experiencing, and to decide together what direction to take. The road may be clear from the start, or it may need to emerge. Everyone’s road is different. But the process will be at your own pace, in a respectful and caring environment.

I bring many years of experience to my practice: I have worked as a therapist since 1992, and have been in private practice since 1996. Also, because of my background, as well as my work with people from all walks of life, I have a unique awareness and appreciation of cultural differences, and offer therapy in Spanish as well as English.

My credentials include:

  • B.A., English, Duke University, 1979;

  • M.S. Ed., Marriage and Family Therapy, University of Miami, 1992;

  • Outpatient Therapist, Parent-Child Center, Inc., 1992-1996;

  • Licensed in Florida as a Marriage and Family Therapist, 1996; LMFT

  • Clinical Member, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy;

  • Past President, Palm Beach Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

About Veronica Lichtenstein, LMHC

Often the first question a new client asks is, "Where do I begin?" So much is on your plate; it might feel like it will take forever to tell your life story and what is on your mind. My philosophy is that wherever you start is the right place.

I do not follow a set script, write everything down with a pen constantly in hand, or stop the session exactly on the mark. My sessions are about building the relationship and staying relatable so that my clients feel safe to open up and explore their issues. Dialogue will be in conversation format and the client will be in control of the session. I believe that the clients have the answers already and I am just the facilitator for this. I use a lot of reflection , tying in the clients' thoughts into goals indicated by them. I enjoy witnessing my clients' empowerment!

My diverse background has helped in all aspects of becoming a caring therapist. I grew up in upstate New York and am the oldest of three girls to immigrant parents. Quite often, I would feel caught between two worlds and I think this experience enables me to relate to all types of people.

I received my undergraduate degree with dual majors of Public Relations and English at SI Newhouse, Syracuse University. Later, I settled in Chicago, IL where I earned my Masters in Elementary Education. I have always enjoyed kids and adolescents and have taught a variety of ages, from preschool to 7th grade. Connecting with my students and seeing their individual struggles in development, was the inspiration to go back to school and earn my Masters at Nova Southeastern University in Mental Health Counseling.

I see individuals of all ages with a variety of issues, ranging from trauma, global delays, OCD, ADHD, bipolar, dual diagnosis, gender identity issues, depression, anxiety...the list goes on! I especially enjoy group work and have really connected with the energy of the teen population in group settings.

I have resided in Jupiter for 15 years, along with my husband and 2 children, 15 and 10 years old, and am an active member in the community.

ABOUT CAROL MOORE, LCSW

I limit my practice to working with adults, including couples and individuals.  Although my practice includes working with and treating substance abuse, depression and anxiety trauma, I have a special passion for helping my female clients move forward from physically and mentally abusive relationships.

My belief is that the most important relationship you can have is the one with yourself. If you don't have positive feelings toward yourself, how can you truly be happy and have honest and loving relationships in your life? I give my clients the skills and tools to create positive change in their lives. Results they have seen include: Increased self-confidence/ Much improved self-esteem/ Finding their ideal mate/ Enjoying intimacy in their relationships/ Created open lines of communication with their partner, family, friends or co-workers/ Major decreases in symptoms due to loss, grief or from a traumatic event/ Improved work performance

I am a solution-focused therapist who is dedicated to providing results. This does require work on your part. You will need to be ready for change and willing to listen to my guidance to create the positive changes you seek.

We will start by examining the overall history of your problem. Next we will look into what other remedies you have tried to resolve your issue(s). Most importantly, I will give you specific action steps to take which will lead to the outcome you desire.

ABOUT PALM BEACH GARDENS COUPLES COUNSELOR JOHN WALSH

Through an interactive collaborative approach with individuals, couples counseling, and family counseling, I can help you set attainable goals that include replacing the conflict, chaos, and confusion with more peace, joy, and happiness. Only you can make the choice to change your thinking and behavior.

With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I can guide you with different techniques that have worked well for others. Through Solution Focused Brief Therapy you can also acquire tools to help effectuate change quickly. Through Hypnotherapy I can offer you suggestions that you have the choice to accept or not. All hypnosis is self- hypnosis.

In the very relaxed state of hypnosis, one is more consciously aware than in a normal waking state and can effectively shift behaviors and feelings accordingly. I have advanced training in couples (Divorce Busting TM) and also modified (Imago TM) marriage and relationship counseling. All these options work if you allow them to.

I am a "formed husband", meaning that I have been through divorce (and bought the t-shirt).  I know what divorce is like, and have put a considerable amount of research into how to build and maintain a relationship that avoids divorce (and how to recover from it when it does happen).  Also, as the former Director of the Employee Assistance Program for the Chicago Fire Department I have experience in serving those who have endured critical incidents, phobias, stress, and anger issues.

Call for a free phone consultation to see if I am the right professional to help you achieve your goals.  You can also find more information about me on my website, http://www.palmbeachcounselor.com/.

Phone:  (561) 626-2444

Email: aradiphd@comast.com

ABOUT DR. ARADI:

Since 1990, I have maintained a private practice in Palm Beach Gardens specializing in individual, marital, family, and sex therapy. I also provide forensic evaluations and have been asked to give expert testimony in numerous cases involving parental fitness/child custody, sexual offending, addiction, and trauma. In 1995, I expanded the practice to include family business consultation and organizational development.

I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology for the University of Florida, graduating with honors in 1974. I continued on at the University of Florida and earned Masters and Specialists Degrees in School Psychology in 1976.

After graduating, I worked for 5 years as a school psychologist in St. Petersburg, Florida. As opposed to doing traditional school psychology (testing), I was part of a unique and innovative program which provided comprehensive services to high schools. This included individual and group counseling to students, in-service training to teachers and administrators, and parent education. The overall focus of the work was to identify students at risk to drop-out, and help them succeed and graduate. An additional component of the job included conducting 2 and 3 day workshops for school districts around the country interested in implementing an alternative to student suspension program.

One of the important things working with adolescents taught me was that working with them individually was of limited effectiveness. I grew to believe that to help them change, it was important to work with the entire family. Hence, in 1982 I applied and was accepted to Purdue University’s Family Therapy Program. I was attracted to the program’s strong balance in theory, practice (we were engaged in supervised clinical practice during all three years of study) and research. As a doctoral student, I was the grant writer and principal investigator of a major university-funded research study designed to investigate the efficacy of different approaches to marital therapy. I graduated in the Fall of 1985 and moved to Palm Beach County to start a private practice.

I have been since 1978 and have two daughters in college. For recreation, I enjoy boating, offshore fishing, snorkeling, music and reading.

 About Melissa:

As a busy mother, wife and   professional, I understand the importance of maintaining a healthy marriage   as the basis of one’s personal and family life. I also understand the   challenges as well. As a clinician, I work from a systemic perspective,   meaning that I work with the whole family (in some contexts) or with the   people involved with the "problem". I work from an empowerment   model with the goal of teaching my clients new ways of perceiving their   problem, as well as adopting healthier coping and communication skills so   they can make their desired changes. I believe the client is not the problem,   the problem is the problem, and we will work together to decrease any form of   anxiety and/or depression you have about the issue you are experiencing. I   feel all people need feedback and support throughout their lives and I   believe coming to counseling is a healthy, and positive way of empowering   yourself to change for the better. I am an oppression sensitive therapist. I   take into account my client's strengths, work from a mutual respect model,   and recognize that my client's gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class,   race, religion, and health, all impact how the client perceives and   experiences his/her issue. I have experience working with a multiplicity of   issues including: depression, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic   violence, marital/couple counseling, divorce & remarriage, child   behavioral problems, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), eating disorders, sexual   orientation/sexual identity development, and low self-esteem/assertiveness   training. I specialize in the treatment of couples and families.

How Couples Therapy Works

Emotional distance, recurrent conflict, betrayal, and infidelity are often the symptoms of deeper issues.  In therapy couples are guided through addressing the root cause of these symptoms, recovering from their effects, and building a healthy and satisfying relationship.

Couples learn to:

  • Establish a deeper dialogue at a feelings level

  • Replace anger and frustration with understanding and compassion

  • Identify unmet needs and meet them

  • Shift out of negative interaction patterns and into positive ones

  • Develop a deep emotional bond

  • Become more open, attuned, and responsive to one another

Take the next step toward having a relationship full of passion and tenderness by calling Dr. Rapp at (561) 223-1707 to set up an appointment or click www.jonathanrapp.com to view more information on Dr. Rapp’s website.

ABOUT DELRAY BEACH MARRIAGE COUNSELOR JIANNY ADAMO:

Who doesn’t want to be in a safe and intimate marriage? Yet, often times we deny who we are in order to be accepted, betraying ourselves.  And at other times, we hide behind masks and barriers cutting off our ability to engage in deep connection and closeness.

My training as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Relationship Coach focus on preparing you for a life-time of love by assisting you to increase self-awareness, shift to empowering attitudes and behaviors and align your choices with your goals.  My skills are drawn from theories for mental, emotional, relational and spiritual change, offering you the support to release and move past fear and limitations that are getting in the way of your fulfillment.

 For couples, I offer a customized program tailored to your specific needs to grow in love, intimacy and understanding, in other words, to recharge the love that brought you together. For singles, I support you in healing from past relationships, break unfulfilling cycles of attraction and to prepare and attract the love of your life. In divorce recovery, I help you to stabilize and heal, promoting a quicker path to healthy living. I equip my clients with effective communication and conflict resolutions skills as well as intimacy skills for greater success in your personal and professional life.

My passion to help create intimate, life-long fulfilling marriages led me to earn a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Nyack College, NY where it combined psychological and spiritual theories to understanding humanity. Intimate relationships, although conflictive at times, are nature’s path to healing, personal growth and happiness. In many ways it’s a reflection of the love or union God intends to have with us--a union where it’s safe to know and be known, love that transcends the individual, calling forth inner strength, purpose and vitality.

Nothing excites me more than to support you to move towards a rewarding life centered on freedom to love, ability to connect deeply and to live authentically.
