ABOUT Michelle Sgarlato, LCSW EMDR therapist
Michelle Sgarlato is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Masters in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and is trained in EMDR, a highly effective modality for the treatment of trauma. Before opening her private practice, MLS Counseling Inc., Michelle was the director of a mental health day program for many years and gained extensive experience working with clients with an array of mental health issues. Later she became a school counselor working with both elementary and middle school aged children but her passion is working with adolescents and adults who experience anxiety, low self-esteem, couples who are questioning their relationships and women going through divorce. Her training in EMDR has been found to be highly effective for those who have experienced trauma as well as improving self-esteem and reducing anxiety. In addition to EMDR, Michelle utilizes other effective treatment modalities that fit each individual client.
